National Seminar on Copyright Protection in the Theatrical Field


The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, in cooperation with the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI), organizes on 7 February the National Seminar “Copyright Protection for Theater Representatives”.

The event will take place in the precincts of the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu”, hall “Valeriu Cupcea”, starting at 09.00.

The seminar aims at enhancing knowledge on the protection and enforcement of copyright and related rights in the theatrical field and the exchange of experience and best practices between different institutions in this field.

Representatives of public authorities, theaters, as well as organizations for collective management of copyright and related rights are invited to the seminar.

Thus, representatives of the main theatrical institutions of the Republic of Moldova, among which: Petru Hadirca, Director General of the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu”, Iurie Suveica, Director of the Republican Theater “Luceafarul”, Vasile Birna, Deputy Director of the Republican Theater “Licurici”, Liviu Stirbu, Artistic Director of the Theater “Ginta Latina”. There will also be representatives of the National Opera and Ballet Theater “Maria Biesu”, National Theater “Eugene Ionesco”, Republican Musical-Dramatic Theater “B.P.Hasdeu” in Cahul, Municipal Puppet Theater “Guguta”, Epic Theater of Ethnography and Folklore “Ion Creanga”, Genesis Art Theater, etc. The event will also be attended by the main concert institutions and organizations of the country: Organ Hall, National Philharmonic “Serghei Lunchevici”, Concert and Impresario Organization “Moldova-Concert”, etc.

AGEPI organizes numerous events focused on issues related to the protection and enforcement of copyright and related rights, but it is for the first time when such an event is exclusively organized for the theatrical sector. This is the reason why the seminar aims to be useful and effective, capable of generating discussions and debates on current topics in the field, being of an increased interest for all participants in this platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas and best practices.
