In late May 2014 came off the press the second edition of the National Report on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova, 2013. The Study was conducted by the Observatory on Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights and published with the support of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM). The report is the only publication in the country, which inserts in its pages the up-to-day situation of counterfeiting and piracy, and the evolution and the impact that these phenomena have on right holders, consumers, national economy and society in general.
The Study includes general information on the subject analyzed; statistical data on the activity of public authorities responsible for the enforcement of rights, analysis of the phenomenon of counterfeiting and piracy in the Republic of Moldova and the most important actions conducted during 2013 on prevention and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Thanks to the good cooperation between the Customs Service, General Inspectorate of Police, Prosecutor General’s Office and State Agency on Intellectual Property, the study contains complete and accurate data.
Publication of the report falls into public authorities’ efforts to develop a balanced system of protection of intellectual property, according to the National Intellectual Property Strategy until 2020.
