Intellectual Property on the Agenda of the International Forum “Strengthening the Knowledge Triangle in the Republic of Moldova”

In the period 23-24 March this year, at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) was held the International Forum “Strengthening the Knowledge Triangle in the Republic of Moldova: Steps towards European Integration through Education-Research-Innovation”,  3rd edition. The main organizer of the Forum was the Center for European Integration Studies of AESM.

TRIANGLE 2017 edition was carried out under the theme “Promoting International Cooperation for Strengthening the Knowledge Triangle in Moldova”.

The forum brought together students, university professors, public officials, professional groups and civil society representatives, university leaders and stakeholders who are part of the higher and research education; representatives of the Rectors’ Council of the Republic of Moldova; representatives of research institutions; public authorities, entrepreneurs and young researchers from the Republic of Moldova.

The program of the event included a series of speeches, round tables, seminars with interactive presentations and case studies in order to identify viable solutions to ensure the proper functioning of the knowledge triangle for the benefit of institutions, students and graduates.

The event was attended by specialists of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

Thus, in the opening of the second day of the Forum, AGEPI Director General, Octavian Apostol, presented brief information about the role of AGEPI in the innovation process. “AGEPI actively supports small and medium business applying various facilities including financial support for patenting abroad, as an example may be mentioned the significant tax exemptions granted for registration of intellectual property objects. Next, we will make every effort to facilitate the registration of intellectual property rights and ensure a better protection”, said Octavian Apostol.

TRIANGLE 2017 was held with the support of the European Commission through INTEGRA Project “Jean Monnet Center of Excellence in European Studies of Economic Integration”.
