The Festival-Contest “You too can be a Star” has designated its winners


In the period 28 -30 April this year in Chisinau took place the second edition of the Festival-Contest “You too can be a Star”, organized by the Buiucani District Praetura in partnership with the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). The event aimed to encourage and promote young performers and artistic groups in the secondary and higher education institutions of the Chisinau municipality.

The Festival-Contest was fully fitted into the list of activities scheduled by AGEPI on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, celebrated annually on 26 April. The theme of this celebration in 2015 was “Get up, Stand up. For music!”

In the current edition of the Festival-Contest participated around 40 educational institutions which presented 2 artistic numbers each: A solo or duet piece in live performance only in Romanian and a folk ensemble, a dance, a poetical recital or a short theatrical excerpt.

The jury consisted of composers, journalists, composers and performers from the country and abroad. Author and producer of the festival-contest is the variety music performer, member of the Musicians’ Union of Moldova Ludmila Rotaru Eryka.

Contest Winners Gala of the Festival-Contest was held on 30 April this year within the premises of the Russian Dramatic Theater “A.P. Chekhov”.

The winner awarding event was attended by the members of the Festival Contest Jury, professors and parents, pupils and students, young performers and representatives of the organizers.

Members of the Jury and representatives of co-organizers of the Festival-Contest presented to the participants prizes of participation, special prizes, prizes for the first, second and third places. The Festival-Contest Trophy was awarded to Aesthetic Education Center “Lastarel” to the category of education institutions and the Secondary Vocational School No. 1 to the category of academic institutions of the Chisinau municipality.

In his speech to the participants in the ceremony, the Pretorian of the Buiucani District, Mr. Valeriu Nemerenco, said that the Festival-Contest is in its second edition and is very important to promote young talents in our country. Mr. Nemerenco stressed also that the Festival-Contest was organized in the context of celebration of the 50th anniversary of foundation of the Buiucani District Praetura. He thanked the partners, especially AGEPI, for the appreciation and the financial support of the Festival-Contest.

Present at the event, Mrs. Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI spoke about the role of music in our lives, the importance of protecting and respecting the results of creativity and about the support that AGEPI provides to young generation. In the same context, she congratulated all the participants for impressive performances and transmitted the greeting message of Mrs. Lilia Bolocan, Director General of AGEPI on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day.

Winners Gala culminated with a concert of variety and folk music supported by local performers and guests from Italy, and I place winners of the Festival-Contest Trophy.
