Signing the Memorandum of Understanding brings the relationship between the two Offices to a new level of cooperation that fits perfectly into Moldova’s European Integration Agenda, which contributes to the achievement of the objectives set by the Moldova-EU Association Agreement in the field of IP and supports the gradual integration of Moldova’s economy on the EU internal market.
Thus, the offices have decided to extend the cooperation in the field of intellectual property to consolidate IP systems and services by organizing joint actions, exchanging experience and implementing joint data integration projects in the field of trademarks and industrial design. The areas of cooperation will include the organization of seminars or workshops, online training courses and participation in the training activities of each Office. The Memorandum also includes conducting IP rights enforcement activities and addressing the economic aspects of the field, including exchanging experience and information on the economic impact of innovative and creative industries, conducting studies and evaluations.
The Memorandum aims to contribute to the creation of a strategic partnership between the two institutions, the participation of AGEPI in the development projects implemented by EUIPO, as well as the facilitation of the exchange of experience and knowledge in the administration of intellectual property.
