The session entitled “Valorization of Heritage through Intellectual Property Rghts” organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) was held on September 19, this year, in online format.
The session brought to the fore the role of intellectual property in the protection and promotion of cultural heritage, with an emphasis on opportunities for valorization through modern legal protection mechanisms. The topics addressed were: interaction between intellectual property objects and cultural heritage; geographical indications as a tool for conservation and sustainable development; cultural heritage as a source of inspiration for creative industries and for the design of the future; as well as international good practices in the field.
The event “Valorization of Heritage Through Intellectual Property Rights” is part of the series of scientific sessions within the International Scientific Conference “Yesterday’s Cultural Heritage - Implications for the Development of Tomorrow’s Society”, 12th edition, organized during the period September 18-19, this year, by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, in partnership with prestigious institutions from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and Germany, in the context of the European Days of Cultural Heritage.
During the opening ceremony of the Scientific Conference on September 18, Ms. Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, addressed a greeting message to the participants, emphasizing the importance of such dialogue platforms for strengthening the connection between heritage, innovation, intellectual property and development.
By organizing such sessions, AGEPI reaffirms its commitment to promoting intellectual property as a strategic tool for protecting and valorizing cultural heritage, contributing to the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European space of research, innovation and creativity.
