The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) organized, on March 14, a training seminar in the field of intellectual property for students, masters and doctoral students of the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts (AMTFA).

The event aimed to inform participants of the importance of protecting intellectual property, as well as to encourage innovation and creativity among students.

During the seminar, Andrei Moisei, principal consultant in the Communication and Training Division, Communication, International Relations and European Integration Department of AGEPI, informed the participants of what intellectual property (IP) objects are, the necessity and duration of protection of IP objects, the phenomenon plagiarism and its effects. Particular attention was paid to copyright and related rights, the importance of works of art for humanity and the economy, the creative industries, the ways of acquiring profit from the protection of works, as well as the organizations for collective management of economic copyright and/or related rights.

The training seminar organized by AGEPI gave participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the key aspects of intellectual property and to understand the importance of protecting intellectual property rights. Finally, those present had the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from the AGEPI specialist, thus strengthening their knowledge in this important field.
