The Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, participates in the European Patent Organization (EPO) 17th Annual Meeting on Cooperation with Member States. The event takes place on 26-27 May 2023, in Lisbon, Portugal.

The meeting is attended by delegates from the EPO Member States, who assess the progress made in terms of cooperation activities. They share experiences and best practices in their implementation and will exchange views on the cooperation strategy of the European Patent Organization with the Member States for the coming years.

It is important to mention that the Republic of Moldova was invited to participate for the first time as an observer in the annual meeting on cooperation with the EPO member states. This invitation became possible as a result of the historic decision of the EPO Administrative Council of December 13, 2022 to invite the Republic of Moldova to join the European Patent Convention. Through this accession, the Republic of Moldova will be able to become part of the European patent space in the foreseeable future. AGEPI has made considerable efforts to contribute to this significant achievement.
