The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place on June 27, this year, in a hybrid format, chaired by Mr. Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, Chairman of the Commission.
During the meeting, 5 applications were examined and it was decided to grant permission to use the official or historical name of the State in 4 trademarks:
with the filing № 053627,
with the filing № 053644,
with the filing № 053993,
with the filing № 054200
and an industrial model
from the certificate with № 2012.
The scope of activity of the applicants for permission refers to advertising; education; training; entertainment; transport; travel organization; medical services; alcoholic beverages; decorative elements for clothing; etc.
In accordance with the legislation in force, trademarks, industrial designs and models containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the permission of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, the activity of which is regulated by Government Decision No 8/2022.
