The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place on 4 April, in a hybrid format, chaired by Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, President of the Commission.
During the meeting, 2 requests were examined and it was decided to grant permission to use the official or historical name of the State in trademarks: with the filing No 052234,
with the filing No 053677.
The said trademarks are to be used, according to the requests, for various categories of products and services: advertising; entertainment; pastry and confectionery products; agricultural, aquaculture, horticultural products; mineral and carbonated waters; fruit drinks and fruit juices; public catering services; temporary accommodation services; etc.
In accordance with the legislation in force, trademarks, industrial designs containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the permission of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, the activity of which is regulated by Government Decision No 8/2022.
