For outstanding achievements in the innovation activity in the field of agricultural machinery industry and on the occasion of the Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) awarded the Diploma and Gold Medal “Outstanding Inventor” to Mr. Ion Habasescu, Dr. Hab. of Technology, corresponding member of ASM, director of the Institute of Agricultural Machinery “Mecagro”.
On June 1 this year, the corresponding member of ASM Ion Habasescu, holder of the honorary title “Emeritus Man”, renowned scientist in the field of agricultural mechanization, laureate of the National Prize in the field of science and technology, has reached the honorable age of 75 years.
The scientific and innovation activity of c.m. Ion Habasescu resulted in valuable scientific achievement for the national economy. Under the leadership of Mr. Habasescu were developed and implemented technical means, including: machinery complex for processing of agricultural products (sunflower, cereals, sweet corn, meat, etc.), the range of plant protection machines (portable, carried, towed), complex of livestock machinery and machinery for harvesting and processing of biomass, with the view of producing and using liquid and solid biofuels. Most developments contain innovation elements confirmed by 82 patents of the Republic of Moldova, being widely implemented in the country and abroad.
Considering these achievements, AGEPI submitted to WIPO a request to support the candidacy of c.m. Ion Habasescu to be awarded the Gold Medal “Outstanding Inventor”.
WIPO highest award was handed to Mr. Ion Habasescu by Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, during the solemn meeting dedicated to the Inventor’s and Rationalizer Day, held on June 28, in the conference hall of the National Confederation of Trade Unions.
