The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) invites interested pupils to participate in the 13th edition of the International Intellectual Property Olympiad for lyceum pupils in Russia. The aim of the Olympiad is to increase the young generation’s interest in intellectual property, to support the inventive and research activity of young people, as well as to give talented children a chance to realize their potential, regardless of the country of residence.
The Olympias have been organized since 2009 by the Federal Intellectual Property Service (Rospatent), Russian Academy of Intellectual Property (RGAIS), Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation (CC RF), with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Eurasian Patent Office (OEAB) and is included in the List of Olympiads and other intellectual competitions approved by the Russian Ministry of Education.
The Olympiad can be attended by 11th grade pupils from the general education institutions and graduates of vocational education institutions (colleges, vocational schools). In the context of the epidemiological situation generated by the COVID-19 infection, the competition will take place online, in three stages, from March 1 to May 21, 2021.
During the first stage (March-April), participants will have an online test on topics related to intellectual property, on the website http://olimpiada.rgiis.ru.
In the second stage (May), participants will write an essay on a topic proposed by the Organizing Committee. The topics and some recommendations for writing the essay will be placed on the mentioned site.
Stage III (final) oral presentation of creative works by finalists and completion of the task of the contest (the date of the contest will be announced later). This stage will also take place in online format.
The winners will receive diplomas, gifts from the Olympiad partners, and the finalists will receive additional points for admission to studies at the State Academy of Intellectual Property of Russia - the only university in the Russian Federation that trains specialists in this field.
