The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on 22 March in the Professional Workshop “The Law on Copyright and Related Rights: Correct Application and Promotion by Library Staff”. The event took place in online format and was organized by the National Library of the Republic of Moldova (NLRM).

The purpose of the workshop was to consolidate knowledge in the field of copyright in the context of the entry into force of the new Law No. 230/2022 on Copyright and Related Rights.

The event brought together approximately 100 librarians from national, university, specialized, municipal, city and district libraries.

About the new legislative provisions in the field of copyright and related rights and the legal framework for libraries, exceptions and limitations in the field of copyright for libraries, the impact of copyright on digitization practices in libraries and library activities, and also about the protection of copyright in the activities of digital libraries, spoke Andrei Moisei, principal consultant, Communication and Training Division of AGEPI.

The librarians appreciated the usefulness of this workshop and expressed their desire to participate in other meetings of this kind to deepen their knowledge in the field of copyright and to be aware of new legislative provisions.
