On May 13 this year, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated alongside of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and other public authorities of the Republic of Moldova in the celebration of Europe Day 2017, within the European Village. The event was organized by the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova and took place in the Public Garden “Stefan cel Mare si Sfant”.
AGEPI was present in the tent of the Republic of Moldova with information and consultations in the field of intellectual property, as well as some creative works and inventions of the students from the Technical University of Moldova. AGEPI also organized a Quiz, and those who answered questions correctly got various awards.
Within the European Village, visitors were able to find tents with EU-funded project presentations, where they could find out about European Union assistance to the development of the Republic of Moldova.
The event also offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy European culture and cuisine and not only through the presence of the EU member states’ embassies and the partner countries.
Europe Day is marked annually by the European Community and partner countries on 9 May. The feast was set up in memory of French foreign minister, Robert Schuman. At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman proposed to establish a new form of political cooperation in Europe that would forever eliminate the possibility of a new war between European nations. This day is considered the date of initiation of European integration.
