On February 23 and 24, representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated in two information sessions in the field of intellectual property organized during the Career Week for pupils of the Centre of Excellence in Economics and Finance (CEEF). The seminars were attended by 1st-4th-year pupils, specialties Web Applications Management and Programming and Analysis of Software Products within CEEF.
The main purpose of the information sessions was to promote and disseminate information on the national intellectual property (IP) system and to strengthen knowledge in the field of IP among pupils.
During the first event, Andrei Moisei, Principal Consultant, AGEPI Communication and Training Division, spoke to pupils about general aspects of the role and purpose of intellectual property, about IP objects, the need, advantages and ways to protect them, counterfeiting and piracy and their negative effects.
On the second day, the participants in the event discussed about the product of the IT field and the ways to protect it as intellectual property objects. The AGEPI representative presented useful information about copyright and related rights in the IT field, the legal framework and the economic right in the created software, the protection of computer programs and mobile applications, as well as the abusive use or illegal assignment of the source code. The pupils were also familiarized with the AGEPI databases and information resources in the field of IP.
The event ended with a question and answer session. Finally, the participants were satisfied with the information presented by the AGEPI specialist and were interested in participating in such training seminars.
