From 20 to 24 April, in Chisinau, took place the third edition of the Festival-Contest of interpretation of light and folk music “You too can be a Star”, organized by the Buiucani District Praetura in partnership with the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The event aimed at promoting young performers and artistic groups within the secondary and higher education institutions from Chisinau and other districts of the country.
The current edition of the event was attended by over 50 educational institutions. Participants were divided into four age categories. In two days of pre-selections, there were presented about 150 artistic numbers.
The jury was made up of local composers and performers. Author and producer of the event was the variety music performer Ludmila Rotaru Eryka.
Winners Gala of the Contest “You too can be a Star” was held on April 24 within the premises of the Revue Theater “Ginta Latina”. The ceremony was attended by judges, professors, parents, young performers and representatives of AGEPI.
Attending the event, Octavian Apostol, Director General of AGEPI, said that in April, AGEPI carries out an extensive program of activities dedicated to World Intellectual Property Day, celebrated annually on 26 April. The Festival-Contest “You too can be a Star” also fits into the list of activities dedicated to this event. AGEPI participated as a partner of this festival in order to encourage and promote young performers, said Director General of AGEPI.
The participants in the contest received prizes and diplomas of participation from the organizers. The trophies of the festival-contest were awarded to Sireti Theoretical Lyceum from the Sireti village, Straseni district, and to State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”.
The ceremony culminated with a concert of variety and folk music supported by local performers and winners of the Festival-Contest “You too can be a Star”.
