The Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, was invited on 24 March to a seminar organized at the Academy of Music, Theater and Visual Arts (AMTFA) to discuss about copyright and its importance in the field of fine arts.
During the seminar, Eugeniu Rusu emphasized the need to form collective management organizations (CMOs) in this sphere, which would represent the interests and rights of painters, designers, sculptors and other art creators. The Director General of AGEPI explained how these organizations can help artists protect their work and obtain adequate remuneration for it.
The students had the opportunity to express their opinions and ask questions related to copyright and the forms of legal organization of the entities they would like to form. Eugeniu Rusu provided detailed answers and encouraged open dialogue and cooperation between students and authorities.
At the end of the seminar, it was agreed that the Director General of AGEPI will return to AMTFA, and until then the students will draft proposals to strengthen mutually beneficial relations with state institutions and come up with more questions to support their career path.
