The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place on July 29, this year, in a hybrid format, chaired by Mr. Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, President of the Commission.

During the meeting, the trademark     with № 29796 was examined, for which it was decided to grant permission to use the official or historical name of the State in a trademark.

The field of activity of the applicant for the permission refers to agricultural, horticultural, forestry products; etc.

In accordance with the legislation in force, trademarks, industrial designs containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the permission of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, the activity of which is regulated by Government Decision No 8/2022.
