Course in Intellectual Property for Legal Assistants and Court Clerks

During the period 14-16 February 2018, the training course “Protection of Intellectual Property in the Republic of Moldova. Practical Aspects” for legal assistants and court clerks trained in the continuous training process conducted by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) was held at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

The purpose of the training course was the professional training of legal assistants and court clerks in the field of intellectual property.

In accordance with the training course Program, the AGEPI specialists have familiarized the participants in the course with the theoretical and practical aspects of protection of intellectual property objects at national and international level, with the role and essence of intellectual property in legal relationships, the forms and limits of protection of intellectual property objects, the rights system it generates, as well as practical aspects on settlement of disputes concerning intellectual property rights.

During the period 19-23 February 2018, the training course “Protection of Intellectual Property in the Republic of Moldova. Practical Aspects” will be held at AGEPI for judges of the Chisinau court and the territorial courts, as well as for prosecutors from the Prosecutor General’s Office and the territorial public prosecutor’s offices.

These courses are included in the list of joint activities planned by AGEPI and NIJ on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on April 12, 2013, which requires the promotion of knowledge about the national system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights among employees in the justice sector of the Republic Moldova. Thus, within the activities stipulated in the Memorandum of Cooperation, the two institutions organize annually training seminars in the field, including by inviting experts and specialists from abroad.
