Cooperation between Right Holders, CMOs and Users, Subject of Discussion within the Framework of a National Seminar


The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), in cooperation with the European Union Technical Assistance Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”, organizes on June 12, 2018, the National Seminar entitled “Cooperation between Right Holders, Collective Management Organizations and Users: The Experience and Practice of the European Union and the Republic of Moldova”.

The seminar aims at enhancing knowledge in the field of copyright and exchanging European experience and good practices between different institutions with responsibilities in the field of training and development of cooperation relations between collective management organizations (CMOs) and users.

The seminar is attended by representatives of public authorities, copyright and related rights management organizations, right holders and system users.

Present at the opening of the event, AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan said that this seminar will facilitate the dialogue between different actors in the copyright collective management system, and that the exchange of views will allow the creation of an effective synergy with a view to cooperation between collective management organizations, users and right holders.

Throughout the day, the participants in the national seminar will address issues related to the development of CMOs in the Republic of Moldova, enforcement of copyright and related rights from the perspective of the Moldovan CMOs, rights and obligations of users: case study; as well as the relationship between CMOs and users in accordance with Directive 2014/26/EU. The experiences of the European Union in the field of observance of the rights and obligations of the collective management organizations will also be presented during the event.
