On February 9, this year, representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) participated in an online meeting with members of the Association of Tourism Development in Moldova (ATDM).
The procedures for registration of traditional specialties guaranteed were discussed during the meeting, in the context of implementation by ATDM of the projects meant to stimulate the increase of the number of visitors of the Republic of Moldova, including through the gastronomic sector. The representatives of the Association, with the direct support of the small producers, identified and selected a list of traditional local dishes, specific to certain areas of the Republic and prepared according to original recipes. The challenges and opportunities for developing business with traditional products in our country were also addressed.
The Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, thanked the representatives of the Association of Tourism Development in Moldova for their interest in the field of intellectual property and assured of the full openness of the State Agency on Intellectual Property to cooperation on any matter within the competence of the institution. “Together with the specialists from AGEPI and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, we have been open to support such actions and initiatives by providing all the information and consulting support. We hope that our contribution will contribute to the development of tourism in the Republic of Moldova and of the economic sector in general”, mentioned Eugeniu Rusu.
As a result, the online meeting facilitated discussions and exchanges of views that will allow for the creation of effective synergy and cooperation to promote traditional local products nationally and internationally.
