In the period 28 June – 1 July 2015, the Scientific Association of Geneticists and Breeders of the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with the University of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection of the ASM organizes the Tenth International Congress of Geneticists and Breeders.

The Congress aims at creating a communication platform between specialists in the field in order to familiarize them with the multiple scientific results, both fundamental and applicative, in various fields of genetics and breeding.

In the Congress confirmed their participation over 500 representatives of the academic community from the country and abroad, university professors, scientific researchers from 17 universities and 32 research institutions from 14 countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, republic of Belarus, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Turkey, United States of America).

The opening ceremony of the jubilee edition of the Congress was held today in the Blue Hall of the ASM, and was moderated by President of the Scientific Association of Geneticists and Breeders of the Republic of Moldova, academician Maria Duca, rector of the ASM University.

Present at the opening ceremony, Mrs. Lilia Bolocan, Director General of AGEPI specified the importance of the exchange of experience at international level in raising the research level, also noted the support from which researchers benefit from AGEPI.

Congress program includes plenary sessions on the following sections: General and Molecular Genetics; Human and Medical Genetics; Plant Genetics and Breeding; Animal Genetics and Breeding; Plant and Animal Biotechnology.

On the second day of the Congress, AGEPI will come up with a presentation on the role of patent information in the research and innovation activity, namely: “Patent Information in the Form of Analytical Products”.
