Amendments to the Common Regulation Under the 1999 Act and the 1960 Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of IDs

Amendments to the Common Regulation Under the 1999 Act and the 1960 Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs (IDs) entered into force as of February 1, 2021.

E-mail address as a required indication

As of February 1, 2021, it is mandatory that the e-mail address be indicated by:

  • applicants in an international registration application,
  • new owners in a request for the recording of a change in ownership,
  • representatives/attorneys appointed as such in an international application, in a request for recording or in a separate communication

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will send all communications to the representative or, if no representative is appointed, to the applicant or holder, by electronic means to the e-mail address on record.
