The 10th edition of the local stage of the European BEST Engineering Competition EBEC took place in Chisinau, during the period 16 – 17 February 2018. The event was organized by BEST Chisinau, exclusively for students of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM).

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as a partner of the cmpetition.

48 students from UTM, grouped in 12 teams, fought to get the title of the best project in the competition. The teams were divided into two sections: Case Study and Team Design.

In the Case Study trial, the six participating teams have realized, for 8 hours, a project whose objective was to reduce the dependence of Chisinau on the Dniester River. Following the judging, the team: Archiway won in the Case Study trial.

In the Team Design trial, the participants tested their inventor-engineer skills. The selected six teams had the task of building a prototype to move over all obstacles on the route. In the Team Design trial, the jury designated the winning team: Rigid.

The winning students were awarded diplomas and prizes from TUM. Participants also received prizes from partners.

The winning teams will represent the Republic of Moldova in the regional stage, which will take place in Iasi in April this year.
