AGEPI Representatives participated in the International Conference “IP Mediation Conference 2025”

10/17/2025

The representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on 16–17 October 2025 in the International Conference “IP Mediation Conference 2025 – Unlocking the Power of Mediation: A Pathway to Efficient and Sustainable IP Dispute Resolution”, held in Malta.

The event brought together international experts, mediators, representatives of intellectual property offices, the legal and business environment, to discuss current trends and good practices in the field of mediation of disputes concerning intellectual property rights.

During the two days, the participants addressed topics regarding the role of mediation in the efficient management of intellectual property disputes, expanding its potential and application in areas such as copyright, geographical indications and standard-essential patents, integrating artificial intelligence-based tools into the mediation process, as well as the involvement of courts in promoting mediation as an alternative dispute resolution method.

AGEPI’s participation in this event reflects the institution’s interest in promoting alternative dispute resolution methods in the field of intellectual property. By leveraging mediation, interested parties can obtain quick and mutually beneficial solutions. At the same time, in the Republic of Moldova, the procedure for conducting mediation in the field of intellectual property, which offers the parties the opportunity to amicably resolve disputes related to intellectual property rights, through a confidential, fast and efficient process, is regulated by Government Decision No 184/2015 to approve of the Regulation on the organization and functioning of the Mediation Commission for Intellectual Property and the mediation procedure.

The participation of AGEPI representatives in the IP Mediation Conference 2025 was made possible with the support of the Project “Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova and Ukraine” (EU4IP), funded by the European Union and implemented by EUIPO.
