Specialists of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on 19 April in the Roundtable entitled “Limits of Protection of Copyright and Related Rights in the Creation and Organization of Digital Contents”, organized by the Medical Scientific Library of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” on the occasion of the World Book and Copyright Day.
The purpose of the event was to strengthen the knowledge in the field of copyright in the context of digitization of cultural heritage and the development of digital libraries/archives in the Republic of Moldova.
The roundtable has as a target group librarians and specialists in digitization from the country’s university libraries that create and develop open access digital resources.
Andrei Moisei, principal consultant, Communication and Training Division of AGEPI, talked about copyright and the legal framework for libraries, exceptions and limitations to copyright for libraries, protection of scientific works in the Republic of Moldova, creation of electronic libraries and institutional repositories, reproduction of documents, etc.
Leaflets, brochures and promotional materials in the field of intellectual property were distributed during the round table.
The event ended with a round of discussions and debates among the participants present at the meeting.
