The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on October 3, this year, in the Conference “PRO-INDUSTRY DIALOG: Catalyst for the Industrial Future of the Republic of Moldova”, 2nd edition, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCI), at the Palace of the Republic, with the support of the project “Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova”, funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Government of Switzerland, implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), and the Project “Enhancing Women’s Resilience and Excellence through Inclusive and Family-Friendly Employment Opportunities”, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by UN Women and UNFPA Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova.
The conference proceedings included thematic sessions and panel discussions with public authorities, professional business associations and local producers, experts and development partners on the most current issues regarding industrial infrastructure, innovation and competitiveness, workforce strengthening, circular industry and state aid for investments.
The first part of the event included four working sessions dedicated to key areas:
- Industrial platforms for growth and modernization – best practices in developing industrial parks and attracting investments;
- Knowledge and innovation-based industrial development – connecting research with regional industries and innovation vouchers;
- Strengthening the industrial workforce – solutions for attracting and retaining human resources, including through dual education, gender equality policies and family-friendly measures;
- Sustainable waste management and circular industry – recommendations for sustainability and adapting to EU requirements for emission reductions.
In the second part of the conference, during the plenary session, the progress of the implementation of the National Industrial Development Program 2024–2028 was analyzed and new public policy proposals to support companies were presented.
The plenary session was moderated by Sergiu Harea, President of the CCI, and among the speakers were: Doina Nistor, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization; Guido Beltrani, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in the Republic of Moldova; Iwona Piórko, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.
During the conference, AGEPI specialists offered free consultation to participants, explaining to them the importance of protecting innovative creations, trademarks, inventions and industrial design. An information space was organized during the event, where partners had the opportunity to display their banners, leaflets and promotional materials.
The event brought together over 250 participants: entrepreneurs, representatives of public authorities, sectoral associations, research institutions, as well as development partners. The aim of the conference was to analyze the developments of the national industry and identify concrete solutions to increase the competitiveness of the Republic of Moldova's economy.
