Viorel IUSTIN, Head of the Patents Department of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), participated on February 26 in the “MIDIA - Digital Intensity Measurement Instrument” event, organized within the “Digital Maturity in Innovative Regions” project and implemented by the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI), with the financial support of the Government of Switzerland and Helvetas Moldova, through the OPTIM Project.

The event aimed to provide a platform for dialogue and cooperation between the business community, public authorities, MIDIA evaluators and development partners, contributing to accelerating the digital transformation processes of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as presenting the MIDIA instrument, which provides companies with a practical framework for understanding the level of digital maturity, establishing development priorities and capitalizing on available support programs.

In his intervention, the AGEPI representative emphasized the essential role of intellectual property (IP) in the digital transformation process and highlighted the fact that, in the context of the development of innovative solutions and the increase in digital intensity, the protection of intellectual property rights is becoming a strategic tool for capitalizing on the results of research, innovation and creativity. He also encouraged companies in the field of innovative sectors to integrate the management of IP portfolios into their business strategies.

The event brought together SMEs, public institutions, business support organizations, development partners, digitalization experts and representatives of the academic environment, fostering the exchange of experience, initiating partnerships and strengthening institutional cooperation in the field of digital transformation.
