On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) organized informational lessons in the field of intellectual property (IP) for pupils from four pre-university institutions in Chisinau. Women and Intellectual Property: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity is the theme of World Intellectual Property Day 2023.
Thus, by organizing these information lessons, we wanted to emphasize the crucial role that women have in the development of innovation and creativity.
The Center of Excellence in Economics and Finance of Chisinau, the Center of Excellence in Medicine and Pharmacy “Raisa Pacalo”, the National College of Commerce of AESM and the Technological College of Chisinau were the pre-university institutions that benefited from this information program.
AGEPI specialists provided pupils with information about intellectual property, its importance and the ways in which IP can be protected. They also discussed about the innovations and creations of women, which have influenced the world we live in today, and how they have harnessed their innovations and creations to bring personal benefits as well as to the whole society.
Also, through this event AGEPI aimed to inspire young people to get involved in the development of innovation and creativity, to protect their own creations and innovations and to contribute to the creation of a more prosperous and sustainable society.
AGEPI wants these information lessons to be a basis for the development of young people as innovators and creators of value in society.
The World Intellectual Property Day has been marked since 2000, and April 26 represents the day on which the Convention Establishing the WIPO (1970) entered into force.
