The European Patent Office (EPO) has launched the call for nominations for the Young Inventors Prize 2027, an international competition dedicated to young inventors who develop innovative solutions to global sustainability challenges.
The new edition follows the remarkable success of the European Inventor Award 2026 ceremony, which has so far attracted almost four million views worldwide, demonstrating the public’s interest in the achievements of inventors and their impact on society.
The Young Inventors Prize aims to identify and promote a new generation of innovators – brave, creative and visionary young people, who contribute through their inventions to building a more sustainable future. The competition is open to students, recent graduates and early-career innovators whose inventions offer concrete solutions to some of the most important challenges facing the world today.
Nominations can be submitted until September 30, 2026, through the dedicated online platform. The competition is open to inventors from all over the world, with no limit on the number of candidates that can be proposed, and inventions do not have to be protected by patent.
AGEPI encourages research institutions, universities, academia, innovation organizations, as well as all actors involved in the national innovation ecosystem to identify and promote young inventors from the Republic of Moldova who, through their creativity and innovative spirit, can become candidates for this prestigious competition.
