Seminar Dedicated to Intellectual Property Rights in the Scientific Research Process

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on 5 June 2025 in the seminar “Intellectual Property Rights in the Scientific Research Process”, organized by the Scientific Library of the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University (SL SPUC). The event was held in a mixed format - with physical participation in the Information and Documentation Center of SL SPUC and broadcast online, to ensure access to a wide audience.

The main goal of the event was to inform and raise awareness of the academic community, doctoral students and librarians on the need to protect intellectual property rights (IP).

The event addressed general topics of intellectual property with provisions related to intellectual property objects and the methods of their protection, the process of harmonizing national legislation with the acquis of the European Union. The participants were informed about some details related to the enforcement of IP rights, the protection of copyright and related rights. Andrei Moisei, Principal Consultant, Communication and Training Section of AGEPI spoke about intellectual property as a tool for valorizing research results, management of innovation and intellectual property.

The participants at the seminar showed an active interest in the topics addressed, having the opportunity to receive answers to the questions asked. The event allowed those present to better understand the benefits of the system of protection of intellectual property objects, and also the advantages of the European integration process and the alignment of national legislation with European Union standards in the field. Also, those present mentioned the importance of organizing information seminars in the field of intellectual property.
