Information Session on Presentation of Online Training Resources Offered by AGEPI and EPO

12/05/2023

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and the European Patent Office (EPO) organized on December 5 an online information session focused on presentation of training resources available on the platforms of both offices. The event was intended especially for authorized attorneys, with the aim of preparing them to act effectively before the EPO on their own, when the Republic of Moldova will become part of the European patent system.

Authorized attorneys with attributions in the field of inventions, representatives of innovation and research centers from the universities of the Republic of Moldova, as well as experts from AGEPI participated in the session.

During the session, EPO representatives delivered a captivating presentation of the European Patent Academy, highlighting the educational resources and opportunities offered to intellectual property professionals.

AGEPI, in turn, presented the e-Learning platform, highlighting the integration on the platform of the EPO courses available in Romanian: Introduction to the Field of Patents and the Patent System, Patentability Requirements at the EPO and Assessing Patentability Requirements at the EPO.

Likewise, the new sources and didactic materials available on the AGEPI e-learning platform were presented, namely the Intellectual Property Teaching Kit, translated into Romanian with the support of the EPO. This Kit aims to facilitate access to quality information and increase professional skills in the field of intellectual property for specialists from the Republic of Moldova.

These training resources available on the platforms of both offices are intended for both authorized attorneys and anyone interested.

We should note that AGEPI’s e-Learning platform is currently in a continuous process of modernization and adaptation. Some resources are already available and others will be available later this year, helping to strengthen the training tools for IP professionals.

The parties expressed interest in continuing the dialogue and exploring new ways of cooperation, with an emphasis on the exchange of expertise and joint initiatives to support evolution in the development of educational resources in the field of intellectual property.
