AGEPI and the General Directorate of Industrial Property of Albania signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Industrial Property

The Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, participated from October 19 to 20, 2023, in the International Event entitled “Woman in Tradition, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” dedicated to the 30th anniversary since the establishment of the General Directorate of Industrial Property (GDIP) of the Republic of Albania.

The event, held in Tirana, was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization in cooperation with GDIP and the European Patent Office. The event brought together representatives of the Government of Albania, WIPO, EPO and the European Union Intellectual Property Office, as well as heads of intellectual property offices from different countries.

The event, under the banner “Woman in Tradition, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” was focused on exploring and promoting the essential role of women in innovation and business development in a constantly changing world. Discussions focused on how women can make significant contributions to innovation and how they can influence strategic decision-making on intellectual property and innovation. Issues related to policies and initiatives that can support women entrepreneurs in developing and protecting their own innovations were also discussed.

During this visit to Tirana, the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the General Directorate of Industrial Property of the Republic of Albania. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of industrial property is timely and welcome for the development and strengthening of cooperation relations in the field of industrial property protection between the two offices, which will bring significant benefits to both countries by promoting innovation, increasing competitiveness and effective protection of industrial property rights.
