The Regional IP Camp for Young Women in STEAM: Creativity, Innovation, Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship – a regional initiative dedicated to developing young women’s skills and harnessing their creative and innovative potential – will be held from September 8 to 11, 2026, in Constanta County, Romania.

Organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA) and the Bulgarian Patent Office (OBP), the camp brings together 50 young women from universities with STEM profiles and specializations from Bulgaria, Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

The program combines theoretical knowledge in the field of intellectual property with practical activities aimed at developing the creativity, innovative spirit, ability to identify solutions and entrepreneurial skills of the participants.

A distinctive element of the camp is the direct interaction with mentors and professionals in the field of intellectual property, innovation and entrepreneurship. The young women benefit from the guidance of experts from WIPO and the national intellectual property offices of the three participating countries, as well as from successful young entrepreneurs who have built their businesses through the strategic exploitation of intellectual property.

The practical experience of the entrepreneurs allows the participants to understand, beyond theoretical concepts, how an idea can be transformed into a product or service, protected by intellectual property instruments and subsequently exploited on the market. Thus, intellectual property is presented not only as a legal protection mechanism, but also as a strategic tool for the development and consolidation of the businesses of the future.

Over the four days, participants are involved in interactive workshops, practical exercises, mentoring sessions and teamwork activities, being encouraged to identify real problems and challenges and develop innovative solutions. The emphasis is on collaboration, exchange of experience and practical application of the acquired knowledge.

Through this approach, the program pursues two complementary objectives: strengthening young women’s knowledge in the field of intellectual property and stimulating them to transform their ideas and skills into innovative initiatives and entrepreneurial projects.

At the same time, the camp creates a regional framework for networking and collaboration, offering participants the opportunity to interact with young women who share the same interests and aspirations, to form professional connections and to identify opportunities for future joint projects.

Encouraging the participation of girls in the STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics – represents, in this context, an investment in the development of a new generation of researchers, inventors, creators and entrepreneurs capable of contributing to the development of innovative solutions for society.

By engaging in this regional initiative, AGEPI reaffirms its commitment to promoting intellectual property education, creativity and innovation among young people, as well as to contributing to the development of an ecosystem in which the ideas and intellectual achievements of the younger generation can be protected and transformed into economic and social value.

The regional camp for girls in STEAM is more than a training program – it is a space where knowledge turns into ideas, ideas into solutions, and solutions can become impactful projects.
