AGEPI participated in the Science Café Event, dedicated to Strengthening the Dialogue between Research and the Business Environment

27.03.2026

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on March 26, in the Science Café event, an informal networking format, designed to identify academic potential and stimulate interaction between researchers and the business environment.

The event’s agenda included a structured dialogue, oriented towards identifying and co-creating solutions to common challenges. Participants analyzed, collaboratively, the barriers that researchers face in their relationship with the economic and institutional environment, with a focus on two priority areas: intellectual property management and the simplification of bureaucratic processes that can limit knowledge transfer. The Science Café format facilitated a participatory process of generating concrete solutions, leveraging the experience and perspectives of representatives from the academic, business and institutional environments.

On behalf of AGEPI, the event was attended by Andrei Moisei, a principal specialist in the Promotion and Training Section, who made several interventions during the discussions. He highlighted the essential role of intellectual property in the development of a knowledge-based society, emphasizing that the effective protection of research results is a fundamental condition for their valorization in the economic environment. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of using intellectual property tools by researchers and entrepreneurs as a means of protecting innovations, increasing competitiveness and attracting investments.

The event offered an informal but results-oriented setting, in which professional relationships were built naturally, with the objective of strengthening a community of researchers connected to the needs and opportunities of the business environment.

Science Café brought together, in a small setting, about 20 selected participants – representatives of public institutions, researchers and actors from the private sector – aiming to create a safe and participatory platform dedicated to the professional development of researchers from the Republic of Moldova.

The event was organized by Technovator within the Innovate Moldova Programme, funded by Sweden and the United Kingdom.
