The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) invites interested persons to participate in the discussion session “Valorization of Heritage Through Intellectual Property Rights”, organized within the framework of the International Scientific Conference “Yesterday’s Cultural Heritage - Implications for the Development of Tomorrow’s Sustainable Society”.
The session will take place on February 19, 2026 and aims to explore the role of intellectual property rights in protecting, valorizing and promoting cultural heritage. The event will bring together presentations, case studies and good practices provided by intellectual property specialists, researchers and representatives of the academic environment.
The session will address, among others, the following topics:
- Cultural heritage and copyright - protection of artistic and literary creations;
- Geographical indications and collective trademarks – promoting traditional and local products;
- Transforming intangible heritage into cultural brands – valorizing cultural identity through intellectual property instruments.
By organizing this session, AGEPI aims to strengthen the dialogue between the scientific community and intellectual property experts, as well as to promote legal mechanisms that contribute to the protection and valorization of cultural heritage.

On February 11, 2026, AGEPI participated in the official opening of the works of the International Scientific Conference “Yesterday’s Cultural Heritage – Implications for the Development of Tomorrow’s Sustainable Society”, dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
The opening of the conference took place in a hybrid format, with physical presence in the Small Hall of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, and online, through the ZOOM platform, bringing together personalities of the scientific community from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
The event is organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, in partnership with academic and research institutions from the country and abroad, including AGEPI, and is held in thematic sections during February 11–20, 2026.
