Representatives of the Office for the Management of External Assistance Programs, on an Information Visit to AGEPI

The representatives of the P.E. “Office for the Management of External Assistance Programs” (OMEAP) undertook on August 6, this year, an information visit to the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) to familiarize themselves with the results of the project “Fostering Innovation in the Danube Region through Knowledge Engineering and IPR Management - KnowING IPR”, a project funded by the European Union under the Danube Transnational Programme.

Discussions held in the precincts of AGEPI focused in particular on the results of the project as well as the activities planned for the next period. Also, the challenges faced by AGEPI in the implementation and management of the project, including in the Covid pandemic19, the solutions identified to ensure efficient and effective management of project activities, dissemination of results and their sustainability after project completion were addressed.

During the meeting, Liliana Vieru, head of the Communication and International Relations Department of AGEPI, project manager, welcomed the OMEAP initiative to initiate an exchange of information and good practices for the implementation of projects within the Danube Transnational Programme (PTD) 2014-2020, creation of communication and cooperation networks between the beneficiaries of PTD projects in the country.

t the same time, at the beginning of this year, a mentoring programme in intellectual property rights, patenting and technological offer was launched, enabling higher education institutions and companies active in the automotive sector and the automotive value chain to develop their IPR skills.

For the implementation of the project in the Republic of Moldova, the European Union has allocated over 122 thousand euros, and the contribution of AGEPI is around 11 thousand euros. Held from July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021, in 13 states in the Danube area, the project aims to promote innovation in the Danube region by creating the above-mentioned platform for academic circles, research and development sector, business environment.
