The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) announces the launch of the Annual Report, which reflects the complex and multilateral activity of the institution during 2019.
The current edition covers statistical and analytical data on the results obtained in 2019, presented in an attractive and dynamic format, on each segment of AGEPI activity, namely: examination of applications and grant of protection for various industrial property objects (inventions, plant varieties, trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications), activity in the field of copyright, legislative developments, national intellectual property system promotion activities nationally and internationally.
In addition to statistics, the Report also contains information on the Agency’s efforts to develop and assert in the Republic of Moldova an integral and viable intellectual property protection (IP) system, comparable to those in countries with long traditions in the field. Among the most notable events and achievements are the launch of the Interactive Map of Moldovan Traditional Products and Geographical Indications - a platform designed to contribute to the promotion of traditional local products, and the conduct of the first distance learning course in the field of intellectual property in Romanian, organization of international events such as the International Specialized Exhibition INFOINVENT, the Annual Regional Seminar on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights, the International Innovation Conference, strengthening the institutional capacities of the national IP office, ensuring the regulatory framework and full assumption of the status of central administrative authority, successful recertification of the Quality Management System, in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard implemented within the institution and the integration of information tools meant to facilitate applicants’ access to the services offered by AGEPI.
The Report also presents the priority actions of AGEPI for 2020, meant to contribute to the development and increase of performance in all areas of competence and to ensure the continuity and finality of the implementation process of the National Intellectual Property Strategy until 2020.
