AGEPI - Partner of the National Science and Engineering Contest for Pupils “Mold SEF”

The eighth edition of the National Science and Engineering Contest for Pupils “Mold SEF” was held from 14 to 17 February, in Chisinau. The contest was organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, in coooperation with the Association of ICT Companies and other partners.

At the opening ceremony was also present the Minister of Education, Culture and Research Corneliu Popovici, who wished the participants a great deal of success, emphasizing the importance of supporting research activities among young people, even in general education institutions.

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as a partner in the organization of the contest with the aim of supporting and promoting creativity and innovation among the young generation. In the current edition, AGEPI held an informative lesson in the field of intellectual property for teachers – professors-coordinators of the competitors.

In this year’s edition of the contest participated 124 students, guided by 58 teachers from 17 districts and municipalities, being registered 74 projects in three thematic categories: science and mathematics; applied sciences and information technology.

The best works were awarded mentions, I, II and III class diplomas, according to the 3 categories of contest and with special prizes from the partners.

The projects that ranked first, for each category are:

Project “Influence of Nanoparticles on the Hemolysis Process” elaborated by the pupil Pisarenco Alina, Theoretical Lyceum “Ion Creanga” from Chisinau

Project “Hand Electronic Prosthesis Prototype” elaborated by Putere Dinu, Moldo-Turkish Theoretical Lyceum “Suleyman Demirel”, TAU Gagauzia.

Project “UniNAN - smart approach to the missing data problem” elaborated by the pupil Barbova Tatiana, Public Institution Theoretical Lyceum “Nicolae Milescu Spataru” from Chisinau.

Traditionally, two of the award-winning projects have been proposed to represent the Republic of Moldova at the “Intel ISEF” International Competition, which will be held in May, in Anaheim, California, United States, after the nominated projects will be analyzed by MECR and AGEPI.

These are the projects that have ranked first in the category Sciences and Mathematics and Information Technology:

  • “Influence of Nanoparticles on the Hemolysis Process” elaborated by the pupil Pisarenco Alina, Theoretical Lyceum “Ion Creanga” from Chisinau
  • “UniNAN - smart approach to the missing data problem” elaborated by the pupil Barbova Tatiana, Public Institution Theoretical Lyceum “Nicolae Milescu Spataru” from Chisinau.
