A training seminar on enforcement of intellectual property intended for the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance (ACPMS) is held from 22 to 25 May this year, at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). The event is organized by the Technical Assistance Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”, funded by the European Union, in collaboration with AGEPI.

In the opening, the AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan mentioned that the training of ACPMS specialists in the field of intellectual property is extremely important because it will lead to a better understanding of the field and will guarantee objectivity and impartiality in the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Moldova.

In accordance with the event’s agenda, topics related to the basic principles of intellectual property and national and international regulations in the field will be addressed. The e-IPR system and other support tools will also be presented. The participants in the event will discuss on the margins of the Guide on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) presented by the experts of the EU Technical Assistance Project as well as about the role of right holders in IPR enforcement.

At the same time, AGEPI specialists will present the activities of the Agency in the field of enforcement of intellectual property rights, including of the Observatory on Enforcement of IPRs, as well as the Databases in the field of intellectual property, managed by AGEPI.

Several workshops will be organized during the seminar, which will cover practical applications and field trials on the supervision of intellectual property rights enforcement in the Republic of Moldova.
