On 19 April this year, within the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM), was held the eighth edition of the Economic Student Contest “Student today, Entrepreneur tomorrow”. Traditionally organized by the Business and Business Administration Department of AESM, the contest gives students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills and competitive potential, teamwork ability and enhancing creativity within a restricted time.
State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as a partner in the current edition of the contest.
Attending the opening of the event, the Director General of AGEPI, Octavian Apostol, said that the State Agency on Intellectual Property has become a tradition to support this contest because, AGEPI is the institution that focuses on fostering creativity, innovative spirit of young people and curiosity in discovering innovative solutions. Octavian Apostol wished the participants much success, perseverance and courage in developing new business ideas in a competitive environment.
In the contest participated 17 teams, formed of 4 - 5 students. The contest focused on entrepreneurial mini-game “Iron Entrepreneur”, the participating teams being supposed to develop, for one hour, business ideas with a maximum of 8000 Euros, determining the target segment, methods to promote the new product/service, operational plan, available resources, promotion policy, key partners, etc. Subsequently, the final idea of the business model was presented to the jury, the participants having at their disposal just 3 minutes.
The teams, whose business ideas were innovative, original and with perspective of implementation and the presentations most compelling and interesting won. Contest winners received diplomas and prizes, including a set of publications offered by AGEPI.
Thus, the winners of the eighth edition of the Economic Contest “Student today, Entrepreneur tomorrow” were declared:
- First place – team “Business Time”,
- Second place – teams “SIRIUS” and “Innovational minds”
- Third place and Public sympathy – team “BlueOcean”.
Economic Student Contest “Student today, Entrepreneur tomorrow” is organized since 2010 and enjoys interest among students.
