On February 23, at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), was held the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the Technical Assistance Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”, financed by the European Union. The project is primarily aimed at improving the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
In the event, chaired by the Director General of AGEPI participated representatives of the co-beneficiary authorities (Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Customs Service, Consumer Protection Agency), of the European Union Delegation to Republic of Moldova, the State Chancellery and the Consortium Archidata, and the team of experts responsible for the implementation of the project.
In opening, Octavian Apostol stressed the importance of this project for improving the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Moldova and for streamlining the communication and coordination between institutions involved in the implementation of the regulations in the field.
Experts have presented the general aspects of the project, its purpose, structure, general working plan and expected results. It also reviewed the results of the initiation period.
Project EuropeAid/137467/DH/SER/MD “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights” began in November 2016 and has an implementation period of two years.
