Expert Yuriy Kapitsa shared his experience in intellectual property at the Innovation Conference
Key Expert in Intellectual Property, Yuriy Kapitsa, participated on November 15 at the International Innovation Conference “Intelectual property – Innovation-Quality of live”, held on 15-16 November.
Thus, in his presentation entitled "Transposition of EU innovation policy to the Central and Eastern European and CIS countries”, Yuriy Kapitsa spoke about the development of innovations in the new EU member states from the Central and Eastern Europe, and also the EU Member States' policies in the field of research and innovation.
According to the expert, the development of the innovation system of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries was carried out through the programs and strategies of these countries, combining both sectorial priorities and horizontal ones, including the development of the science and technology infrastructure, the establishment of a technology transfer system and of enterprises based on knowledge, implementation of the program of public-private cooperation, etc. Also, a significant importance in the EU plays the system of assessing innovation activities, namely the European Innovation Scoreboard.
The main factor in helping to become a leader in innovation is the adoption of a balanced innovation system that combines an adequate level of public and private investment, effective innovation partnerships between businesses and academia, as well as a solid educational base and excellent performance in research. The economic impact of innovation must be manifested through commercialization and exports of innovative products.
“The implementation of measures for the innovative development of the country and for its assessment by the European Innovation Scoreboard is crucial when implementing EU experience. Thus, it is important to introduce tax incentives for innovation, to apply financial and credit mechanisms for the development of innovations, of innovative infrastructure and innovative SMEs. The possibilities of strengthening scientific, technical and innovative cooperation through the Horizon 2020 program should be widely used” believes Yuriy Kapitsa.
Together with Yuriy Kapitsa, national and international experts from the EU project Antolie Fala, Maximilian Foedinger and Arnold Vahrenwald will share the experience at the innovation conference. Experts will address the importance of intellectual innovation and ownership, including geographical indications and designations of origin for local and regional development, and the role of the state in promoting innovative activities for the economic development of European states.
