The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated during October 30–31, 2025, in the DATASTORM 2025 event – ​​“Innovation through Data”, organized by the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM), through the IT4BA Innovative Incubator, in partnership with the National Bureau of Statistics and the Faculty of Information Technologies and Economic Statistics of AESM, with the support of Innovate Moldova (funded by Sweden) and Moldova Agroindbank. The event was dedicated to World Statistics Day and brought together representatives of academia, public institutions and the private sector to discuss the latest developments in the field of data science, artificial intelligence and technological innovation.

DATASTORM 2025 is an interactive platform for cooperation, exchange of ideas and experiences between specialists, companies, academia and young people, with the aim of encouraging the intelligent use of data and promoting knowledge-based innovation.

 

The event organized thematic panels with local and international experts; the B2B Innovation & Interaction Fair, where organizations presented solutions and identified new partnerships; and the “DATASTORM 2025 – Innovation through Data” competition, intended for young researchers and students passionate about data analysis and AI.

The competition was attended by 10 teams of students from prestigious educational institutions, such as AESM, the Technical University of Moldova (TUM), the State University of Moldova (SUM), the National College of Commerce and the Center of Excellence in Informatics and Information Technologies.

The participating teams presented innovative data analysis and visualization projects to the jury, demonstrating remarkable skills in applying digital tools and proposing creative solutions to real challenges in the economic and technological environment.

Mr. Alexandru Luțcan, Head of the Internal Audit Service at AGEPI, took part in the judging process, who contributed to the evaluation of the projects and the designation of the winning teams. AGEPI offered special prizes for the teams with the most innovative solutions, in recognition of their creativity and potential in the field of data science. At the same time, promotional and informative materials on the importance of intellectual property protection in the research and innovation process were distributed to the participants.

AGEPI also took part in the B2B Innovation & Interaction Fair, during which Mr. Petru Grosu, Principal Specialist in the Examination Section, Patents Directorate disseminated informative materials on the procedures for registration of inventions, trademarks and other intellectual property objects, as well as support tools for innovators and entrepreneurs. At the AGEPI stand, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about intellectual property rights and their role in the idea and innovation valorization process.

AGEPI’s participation in the event aimed to strengthen cooperation with academia and promote a culture of innovation and intellectual property protection among young people, researchers and business representatives.

Through its involvement in the DATASTORM 2025 event – ​​“Innovation through Data”, AGEPI reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development of a knowledge-based economy, in which original ideas are protected and valorized. The Agency continues to promote education in the field of intellectual property, thus contributing to raising awareness of the importance of innovation and the legal protection of intellectual creations.
