On June 23 this year, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) organized a training seminar entitled “Patent Documents as a Technological, Legal and Business Information Source”.
The seminar was attended by researchers and inventors of the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
The purpose of the seminar was to familiarize the specialists of the institution with the provisions of the intellectual property protection legislation, particularly with the modes of patenting on and protection of rights in inventions.
Also, AGEPI specialists informed the participants about the most important elements of the national intellectual property system, the benefits of the protection system to develop competitive products and services, the tools offered by AGEPI on the database search system and the patent landscape coming up with recommendations on strengthening the management of portfolio of intellectual property objects held by research institutions.
The participants in the seminar took an active interest in these topics, having the opportunity to get answers to questions. They showed interest in the protection of inventions, plant varieties and other intellectual property objects created in the line of duty in research projects.
Persons present at the event were provided with a set of informational materials in the field of intellectual property.
AGEPI organizes training and information seminars in order to promote and disseminate information on intellectual property, schooling of civil society, research and development sphere, business environment about the importance of the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
