The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on March 23, 2026, in the launch event of the Jean Monnet Chair project “EMPOWER – EU Studies on Innovative Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Prosperity and Competitiveness”, hosted by the State University of Moldova. The project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.

The “EMPOWER” project aims to promote European studies in the field of innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship, contributing to strengthening economic competitiveness and integrating European values ​​into the academic and business environment of the Republic of Moldova.

The launch event brought together representatives of academia, the private sector, civil society and public authorities, providing a platform for dialogue on the role of innovation and sustainability in the development of entrepreneurship, as well as the impact of European values ​​on long-term economic growth.

AGEPI was represented by Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director of AGEPI, and Viorel Iustin, Head of Patents Department, who delivered presentations at the Jean Monnet workshop dedicated to business and civil society, on the theme “Driving Sustainability and Innovation in Moldova in Line with EU Values”.

In her opening speech, the Deputy Director of AGEPI highlighted the essential role of intellectual property in supporting innovative and sustainable businesses, emphasizing that the protection and efficient exploitation of research and innovation results is a key factor for increasing the economic competitiveness of the Republic of Moldova.

By participating in this event, AGEPI reconfirms its commitment to promoting the culture of innovation and strengthening cooperation between academia, the public and private sectors in the spirit of European values. At the same time, AGEPI’s involvement in projects such as “EMPOWER” contributes to the creation of an ecosystem favorable to the development of innovative entrepreneurship and to the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European space of knowledge and competitiveness.
