The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is organizing from May 31 to June 1 the online seminar on the intellectual property (IP) gender gap in the European region.

This seminar is the second of its kind organized by WIPO to address the IP gender gap issue, the first being organized in 2021 and focused on the intellectual property gender gap in the Americas region.

The aim of the seminar is to create a platform for communication between innovation specialists on raising awareness of IP gender gap, which is evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively, and analyzing existing policies and future actions in this field.

The seminar will take place in two separate panels:

The first panel will bring together policymakers from the European region to share best practices to address the IP gender gap. This panel will take place on May 31, 2022, starting at 12.30 (Chisinau time).

The second panel will be followed by a discussion between economists from different IP offices, as well as from the private sector, universities and research institutions, who studied the interference between IP and gender gap. This panel will take place on June 1, 2022, starting at 13.00 (Chisinau time).

The program and additional information on registration and connection to each panel are available on the WIPO website at the following link: https://www.wipo.int/econ_stat/en/economics/news/2022/news_0004.html [1]

Participation in this online seminar is open to all interested stakeholders, but only with prior registration.
