Between 29^th January and 2^nd February, experts of the EU project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights”, Monica Pop and Ion Tiganas met with the General Police Inspectorate and General Prosecutor’s Office to finalise the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Enforcement Guide for Police and Prosecutors.

The publication contains national legislation in the field of criminal enforcement of intellectual property rights, case studies and best practices on IPR enforcement, as well as measures to combat piracy and counterfeiting on the Internet. Thus, the guide will be a useful aide memoir and will clarify aspects relating to both criminalisation of infringements and special investigation techniques.

"The Guide aims to raise awareness of intellectual property rights for the Police and Prosecutor's Office and describes how to operate in cases of infringement of intellectual property rights in the EU Member States, which can be successfully implemented in the Republic of Moldova as well”, said Monica Pop, prosecutor and Romanian representative at the European Observatory on Infringements of IPR.

The Guide on the Criminal Enforcement of the IPR will be published in both hard and digital versions and will be distributed to all police officers and prosecutors who are responsible for the enforcement of intellectual property rights. The publication will be ready in March 2018.
