The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM) of Romania, the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA) and the Romanian American University in Bucharest organizes on January 17-18, in Bucharest, Romania, the 5th edition of the Regional Conference on IP in the Digital Economy for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises: Film Industry in the Digital Environment.
The event aims to promote effective ways of using the intellectual property system in the digital economy by small and medium-sized enterprises in the film industry in Central Europe and the Baltic States.
The Regional Conference is dedicated to national authorities, holders of copyright and related rights, representatives of collective management organizations, film industry associations, digital platforms, small and medium-sized enterprises, users and consumers, as well as representatives of the academic environment.
The program will include presentations and discussions on copyright in the film industry, rights management in the audiovisual sector and empowerment of creators and SMEs in the film sector. The event will also include a panel discussion with film directors Ruxandra Ghitescu, Ketevan Machavariani, Orsi Nagypal and Alina Grigore.
