The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on 18 May this year alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as other public authorities of the Republic of Moldova in the celebration of Europe Day 2019 within the framework of the European City in Cahul. The event was organized by the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova. AGEPI was present in the tent of the Republic of Moldova with information and consultations in the field of intellectual property, as well as instructive-educational products for children and adults.
By the stands of the Embassies of the EU Member States and the partner countries exhibited in the European City, visitors had the opportunity to get information about EU assistance for the development of the Republic of Moldova, and also about European culture and traditions. The event also offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy the diverse gastronomic delights of the EU countries, to watch the Eurovision final. The event included foreign language lessons, film screenings and musical performances.
Europe Day is marked annually by the European Community and partner countries on 9 May. The feast was set up in memory of French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman. At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman proposed to establish a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would forever remove the possibility of a new war between Europe’s nations. This day is considered the date of initiation of European integration.
